Goldflake Angel - Apolemichthys xanthopunctatus
Maximum Size: the Apolemichthys xanthopunctatus grows to 8"-9" inches.
General Size Specifications: small 2 to 3; inches; medium 3 to 4; inches; large 5 to 7 inches; XL 7 to 10 inches. Sizes may vary slightly due to availability.
Minimum Tank Size: The Goldflake Angel prefers a tank of at least 100 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.
Diet: The Apolemichthys xanthopunctatus is a omnivore and likes to eat marine algae, mysid shrimp, Spirulina, sponges, and other meaty treats. Like all large angels, the Goldflake will require feeding with live sponges or a sponge based prepared food like Ocean Nutrition Angel Formula cubes.
Level of Care: The Goldflake Angel is a high maintenance fish.
Behavior: The Goldflake Angel may act aggressively toward other fish. However it is a good candidate to mix with other large Angels.
Hardiness: This is not a hardy fish.
Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).
Range:Christmas Island; central pacific.
General Notes: Apolemichthys xanthopunctatus, the Goldflake Angelfish. Can make a hardy addition to a good size (100 gallons plus) established reef system once established but is known to ship poorly. Full size angels should not be mixed with other full size angels, unless it is in a tank of at least 180 gallons. A beautiful Angel, the Goldflake Angel is definitely one of the Aquarists favorites. Although this Angel is not known as an easy species to keep, many have been successfully kept with the right kind of care. The Goldflake is a good candidate to mix with other Angels in larger aquaria as well as placed in a community type aquarium.<).

Note: Due to variations among each species, livestock may not look identical to the image provided. Expect diversity since each animal is unique in color, texture and shape.

Comments: We bought this fish almost 3 years ago and he has been an awesome addition to our tank. He is very hardy, having survived a tank move, water quality issues and some sort of parasitic infection. He is not at all shy and is not afraid of hands in the tank or water changes. He is in a reef tank and doesn't eat the corals or mushrooms. He will eat out of your hand. He really is an awesome fish to own.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
