  Description
Nassarius Snails - Nassarius species, Also known as: Pacific Nassarius Snail
Color: The Nassarius Snails has a cream or white with brown or black spots on foot color.
Size: The Nassarius Snails may grow to 3/8 inches.
Diet: Carnivore/scavanger.
Feeding: It likes to eat carrion, excess food and detrus.
Behavior: The Nassarius species is generally peaceful toward other tankmates.
Care: Many consider the Nassarius species a low-maintenance specimen. Not venomous. Needs a sand bed of at least 3/4 on and inch.
General notes: The Nassarius snail is one of the best detritus eaters for an aquarium with a sandbed. Thet will eat uneaten food, decaying organics and fish waste. They will bury in the sand to sleep, with just their snorkle sticking out of the sand. When food is available these small snails will pop out of the sandbed and often run in a herd to the available food. Like the Tonga Nassarius snail, the small Nassarius snail will take care of detritus. The difference is these snails are smaller. They are about 1/3 the size of the Tonga Nassarius snails. May require feedings if food is sparse. Most Invertebrates, require very long and slow drip acclimation process of at least 2 hours as they cannot adjust quickly to even small changes in pH, temperature, alkalinity and other parameters. Like all snails, this species is intolerant of extreme nitrate levels (over 20) and cannot live in tanks that have had copper-based medications dispensed.
Water parameters: Keep water quality high (SG 1.023 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).
Origin: The Nassarius Snail is commonly collected from Baja California.

Specifications: This item comes to you in a general size of 1/4" or less. There are no size selection guarantees on this item.

Note: Due to variations among each species, livestock may not look identical to the image provided. Expect diversity since each animal is unique in color, texture and shape.

My Nassarius snail by T STOESSEL

Comments: These snails are nice. Even though they hide most of the time, it is nice seeing them appear after I feed my fish to pick up the scraps that end up on the sand. One time it attacked a small hermit crab and attempted to drag it under the sand. Luckily for the hermit, it came out of its shell right before the shell was fully submerged under the sand. I gave the hermit an empty shell - he jumped right in and went on about his business.
Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
