Main Features

Nassarius Snail - Nassarius species
Color: The Nassarius Snail has a cream or white color.
Size: The Nassarius Snail may grow to 1.5 inches.
Diet: Carnivore/scavanger.
Feeding: It likes to eat carrion, excess food and detrus.
Behavior: The Tonga Nassarius species is generally peaceful toward other tankmates.
Care: Many consider the Tonga Nassarius species a low-maintenance specimen. Not venomous. Needs a sand bed of at least one inch.
General notes: The Tonga Nassarius snail is one of the best detritus eaters for an aquarium with a sandbed and will also eat uneaten food, decaying organics and fish waste. Will bury in the sand to sleep. When food is available these olive pit sized snails will pop out of the sandbed and often run in a herd to the available food. May require feedings if food is sparse. Most Invertebrates require very long and slow drip acclimation process of at least 2 hours as they cannot adjust quickly to even small changes in pH, temperature, alkalinity and other parameters. Like all snails, this species is intolerant of extreme nitrate levels (over 20) and cannot live in tanks that have had copper-based medications dispensed.
Water parameters: Keep water quality high (SG 1.023 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).
Origin: The Tonga Nassarius Snail is commonly collected from Tonga.

Specifications: This item comes to you in a general size of .25-.5 inches for small, .5-.75 inches for medium 7 .75-1.25 for large. There are no size selection guarantees on this item. See also the Pacific Nassarius snails for a smaller verity of these great snails.

Note: Due to variations among each species, livestock may not look identical to the image provided. Expect diversity since each animal is unique in color, texture and shape.
