Minimum Tank Size: The Pictilis Anthias (Male) prefers a tank of at least 80 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.
Diet: The Pseudanthias pictilis is a planktivore and likes to eat zooplankton & algae .
Level of Care: The Pictilis Anthias (Male) is a medium maintenance fish.
Behavior: The Pictilis Anthias (Male) may act mysid shrimp, amphipods and other macroscopic lifely toward other fish.
Compatibility: It doesn`t get along with other Anthias.
Hardiness: This is a hardy fish.
Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).
Range: Western Pacific, Coral Sea.
General Notes: The Pictilis Anthias is one of the more demanding of the Anthias, and should be kept in small groups consisting of 1 male and 2-3 females. Unlike the males, females are colored a light pinkish orange. As with most Anthias kept in aquariums, the Pictilis Anthias will look their best when the tank has a lot of cliffs and overhangs, mimicking their natural environment. Offer frozen Mysis shrimp, Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef (Frozen), and other small meat based foods.
