Red-Tail Tamarind Wrasse - Anampses chrysocephalusAlso known as: Red-Tail Tamarin
Maximum Size: the Anampses chrysocephalus grows up to 7 inches.
General Size Specifications: The small size will come to you generally 1 to 2 inches; the medium generally 3 to 4 inches; the large generally 5 to 6 inches.
Minimum Tank Size: The Red-Tail Tamarind Wrasse prefers a tank of at least 60 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.
Diet: The Anampses chrysocephalus is a carnivore and likes to eat small invert (amphipods & foraminiferans), live feeder shrimp, worms.
Level of Care: The Red-Tail Tamarind Wrasse is a high maintenance fish.
Behavior: The Red-Tail Tamarind Wrasse may act peacefully toward other fish.
Hardiness: this is a moderately hardy fish
Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).

General Notes: Anampses chrysocephalus or The Redtail Tamarind Wrasse is one of the more difficult species to keep. They do not ship well and usually refuse food when first acclimated. Requires fine substrate. Females like to school together. Will jump from tanks that are not covered. May pick at clams and ornamental crustaeans.
