Maximum Size: the Gymnomuraena zebra grows up to 18 inches.
General Size Specifications: This eel will come small 6 - 9 inches; the medium generally 10 - 13 inches; The Large 14 - 17 inches.
Minimum Tank Size: The Zebra Moray Eel prefers a tank of at least 60 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.
Diet: The Gymnomuraena zebra is a carnivore and likes to eat meaty treats (like live feeder, fiddler crabs, small fish & grass shrimp).
Level of Care: The Zebra Moray Eel is a low maintenance fish.
Behavior: The Zebra Moray Eel may act aggressively toward other fish.
Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).
Range: Indo-Pacific.
General Notes: Gymnomuraena zebra, the aptly named Zebra Moray is a slow-moving chocolate black with vertical white striped beauty.The suitability for aquaria of the species is reflected in longevity records. Has been kept in captivity for over fifteen years or more. Less colorful, E. catenata, the Atlantic "Chain-Link" Moray at about two foot maximum is likewise easy to maintain and peaceful. Feed once a week with cut-up crab, shrimp, krill, squid. Known to jump from open top tanks.

Comments: They will live a long life and are extremely hardy, Ive had mine for 7 years, has lived thru many ups and down's. Grows to great lengths, and gets along with many fish, and some inverts. Easy to feed by feeding stick, only down side spends most of his life in hiding, in the rocks.
