Burgundy Linckia Sea Star - Linkia species
Color: The Burgundy Linckia Sea Star has a burgundy color.
Size: The Burgundy Linckia Sea Star may grow to 8 inches.
Diet: Herbivore.
Feeding: It likes to eat Eats film algae.
Behavior: The Linkia species is generally peaceful toward other tankmates.
Care: Many consider the Linkia species a low-maintenance specimen. Not venomous.
General notes: The Burgundy Linckia Sea Star, like it`s Orange cousin, are some of the easier of the Linckia to take to aquarium life. They require a well established aquarium of six months or more in age. Eats ONLY an almost invisible film algae. Many newer tanks are not established enough to provide the amount of film algae required by this peaceful invertebrate. Most Invertebrates, ESPECIALLY Seastars require very long and slow drip acclimation process of at least 2 hours or more as they cannot adjust quickly to even small changes in pH, temperature, and alkalinity. Like all invertebrates, this species is intolerant of extreme nitrate levels (over 20) and cannot live in tanks that have had copper-based medications dispensed. Due to the sensitive nature of this animals stringent acclimation requirements and sensitivity to being properly acclimated, it is on the Restricted Species List.
Water parameters: Keep water quality high (SG 1.023 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).
Origin: The Burgundy Linckia Sea Star is commonly collected from Tonga.

Specifications: The Small size will come to you generally 3 inches; the medium generally 4 inches; the large generally 5 inches.
