Size
: The Blue Leg Hermit Crab may grow to 1 inche.
Diet
: Omnivore.
Feeding
: It likes to eat meaty bits of seafood, algae and detritus.
Behavior
: The Phimochirus operculatus is generally peacful toward other tankmates.
Care
: Many consider the Phimochirus operculatus a low-maintenance specimen. Not venomous.
General notes
: As part of natures “Clean-Up Crew,” they are effective scavengers eating algae, excess food and detritus. They coexist peacefully within reef and peaceful fish only tanks with live rock setups.
Water parameters
: Keep water quality high (SG 1.023 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).

: The Blue Leg Hermit Crab is commonly collected from the Caribbean.

cool crabs. these little guys went right to work when I put them in the tank. I floated them for 1/2 hour and dropped them straight in the tank. Cool to watch as well. They are real hardy I haven't lost one yet.
