Maximum Size: the Lienardella fasciata grows up to 10 inches.
General Size Specifications: The small size will come to you generally 1 to 2 inches; the medium generally 3 to 4 inches; the large generally 5 to 6 inches.
Minimum Tank Size: The Harlequin Tusk Wrasse (Indian Ocean) prefers a tank of at least 60 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.
Diet: The Lienardella fasciata is a carnivore and likes to eat chopped meats, small invert (amphipods & foraminiferans), live feeder shrimp, worms.
Level of Care: The Harlequin Tusk Wrasse (Indian Ocean) is a medium maintenance fish.
Behavior: The Harlequin Tusk Wrasse (Indian Ocean) may act semi-aggressively toward other fish.
Hardiness: this is a moderately hardy fish
Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).
Range: Indo-Pacific.
General Notes: The Lienardella fasciata or Harlequin Tusk wrasse is actually a very peaceful fish in spite of it`s viscious appearance. Is not considered reef safe as it will eat any shrimp, crab or snail it can find. Typically shy and hide a lot as a juvenile, may become bolder with age. Harlequin tush should be only one per tank. Best kept in fish only systems with boisterous wrasses, surgeonfishes, large angelfishes, puffers and triggers. May need to feed live saltwater feeders until wrasse learns to eat frozen and prepared foods.
