General Size Specifications: The small size will come to you generally 1 to 3 inches; the medium generally 1 to 3 inches; the large generally 1 to 3 inches. Minimum Tank Size: The 4-Stripe Damsel prefers a tank of at least 20 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim. Diet: The Dascyllus melanurus is a omnivore and likes to eat variety of foods (meats & veggies). Level of Care: The 4-Stripe Damsel is a low maintenance fish. Behavior: The 4-Stripe Damsel may act aggressively toward other fish. Hardiness: This is a hardy fish. Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F). Range: Indo-Pacific. General Notes: Dascyllus melanurus, Bleeker 1854, the Four-Stripe Damsel or Blacktail Humbug. Indo-Australian Archipelago. Typically found about isolated coral heads. These fish are aggressive and territorial and can harass fish many times it`s size. It is not suitable for a peaceful community tank.
