General Size Specifications: This eel will come small 6 - 9 inches; the medium generally 10 - 13 inches; The Large 14 - 17 inches. Minimum Tank Size: The Green Eel prefers a tank of at least 200 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim. Diet: The Gymnothorax funebris is a carnivore and likes to eat meaty treats (like live feeder, fiddler crabs, small fish & grass shrimp). Level of Care: The Green Eel is a high maintenance fish. Behavior: The Green Eel may act aggressively toward other fish. Hardiness: This is a hardy fish. Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F). Range: South America. General Notes: Needs plenty of places to hide. Grows to 7 ft! Known to jump from open top tanks. Will eat other crabs, fish & eels.
