Blue Flasher Fairy Wrasse - Paracheilinus cyaneusAlso known as: Peacock Fairy Wrasse
Maximum Size: the Paracheilinus filamentosus grows up to 4 inches.
General Size Specifications: This fish will come to you generally around 2 to 3 inches.
Minimum Tank Size: The Blue Flasher Fairy Wrasse prefers a tank of at least 20 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.
Diet: The Paracheilinus cyaneus is a carnivore and likes to eat variety of meats (fish, scallop, shrimp, squid, clam).
Level of Care: The Blue Flasher Fairy Wrasse is a medium maintenance fish.
Behavior: The Blue Flasher Fairy Wrasse may act peacefully toward other fish.
Hardiness: This is a hardy fish.
Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).
Range: Indo-Pacific.
General Notes: A very colorful addition to a reef or peaceful fish only system, the Blue Flasher Fairy Wrasse needs rockwork and small crevices to hide in when frightened and can feel safe in the "slime" cacoon they create to sleep at night. An excellent substitute for harder to keep Anthias, Blue Flasher Fairy Wrasses are happiest in schools and are a bright addition to any peaceful system. Will school with chromis and other schooling fish. The males will flash their beautiful fins as they attract females. Best kept with one male and 3 or more females.
