General Size Specifications: The small size will come to you generally 1 to 3 inches. Minimum Tank Size: The Sergeant Major Damsel prefers a tank of at least 30 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim. Diet: The Abudefduf saxatilis is a omnivore and likes to eat variety of foods (meats & veggies). Level of Care: The Sergeant Major Damsel is a low maintenance fish. Behavior: The Sergeant Major Damsel may act aggressively toward other fish. Hardiness: This is a hardy fish. Breeding: Able to breed. Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F). Range: Indo-Pacific. General Notes: Abudefduf saxatilis (Linnaeus 1758), the Sergeant Major. Very similar to the Indo-west Pacific Abudefduf vaigensis, discerned by its further back fourth black body bar. These fish are aggressive and territorial and can harass fish many times it`s size. It is not suitable for a peaceful community tank. Note: Due to variations among each species, livestock may not look identical to the image provided.
