Maximum Size: the Amblyeleotris wheeleri grows up to 2 inches.
General Size Specifications: These fish generally will come to you at 2 to 3 inches.
Minimum Tank Size: The Watchman Wheeler`s Goby prefers a tank of at least 20 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.
Diet: The Amblyeleotris wheeleri is a carnivore and likes to eat brine & mysid shrimp and other meaty treats (a few times/day).
Level of Care: The Watchman Wheeler`s Goby is a low maintenance fish.
Behavior: The Watchman Wheeler`s Goby may act semi-aggressively toward other fish.
Hardiness: This is a hardy fish.
Breeding: Able to breed.

General Notes: Gobies may sometimes attempt jump out. Needs places to burrow. Prefer presence of substrate. Wheeler`s Shrimp Goby (Amblyeleotris wheeleri). Lives singly or in pairs this species of goby is often found in a commensal relationship with pistol shrimp (Alpheus sp). They will share a cave with the shrimp and provide it warning of predators while the shrimp will usually be in charge of building the domicile. Reef safe and will live peacefully with other tankmates. Feeds on benthic crustaceans such as amphipods; Mysis Shrimp, mysid or daphnia best simulate their natural diet.
