Type of hard coral: Small polyp stony coral (SPS). Diet: Planktivore. Feeding: It likes to eat Filter feeding invert food only. Behavior: The Distichopora species is generally peaceful toward other tankmates.Care: Many consider the Distichopora species a high-maintenance specimen. Lighting: Has low lighting needs.This coral is non-photosynthetic Water flow: The Lace Coral, Stylaster Coral requires intermediate water flow. General notes: The Disticophora Coral appears in shape and color to the Fire Coral but lacks the zooxanthellae (symbiotic light consuming algae) or sting of the fire coral. Requires frequent feedings of phytoplankton and likes to hang upside down in caves and overhangs. Please call before ordering this coral as it is infrequently available.
