Main Features Royal Gramma - Gramma loretoAlso known as: Fairy Basslet Maximum Size: the Gramma loreto grows up to 3 inches. General Size Specifications: The small size will come to you generally 1 to 2 inches; the medium generally 3 to 4 inches; the large generally 5 to 6 inches not including the caudal fin. Minimum Tank Size: The Royal Gramma prefers a tank of at least 20 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim. Diet: The Gramma loreto is a carnivore and likes to eat variety of foods, especially meaty treats (fish & crustaceans). Level of Care: The Royal Gramma is a low maintenance fish. Behavior: The Royal Gramma may act peaceful (but may become territorial)ly toward other fish. Hardiness: This is a hardy fish. Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F). Range: the Caribbean. General Notes: There are but a couple of grammatids that are highly prized in the aquarium hobby. Gramma loreto, the Royal Gramma, is the Basslet or Gramma to many. Colorwise, it`s front half varies from purple to violet, with the back half a bright yellow. Prefers overhangs and caves and tends to be nocturnal, retiring during the daylight photo period until it adjusts to the tank. Note: Due to variations among each species, livestock may not look identical to the image provided. Expect diversity since each animal is unique in color, texture and shape.
