Common Cleaner Wrasse -
Labroides dimidiatus
Also known as: Bluestreak Cleaner, Pacific Cleaner
Maximum Size
: the Labroides dimidiatus grows up to 4 inches.
General Size Specifications
: The small size will come to you generally 1½ to 3 inches; the medium generally 3 to 4 inches; the large generally 4 to 6 inches; the XL generally 6 to 9 inches.
Minimum Tank Size
: The Common Cleaner Wrasse prefers a tank of at least 150 gallons with large fish with plenty of places to hide & swim to survive long term.
Diet
: The Labroides dimidiatus is a carnivore and likes to eat variety of meaty treats, Mysis Shrimp, worms. Also feeds on parasites and most of its diet will consist of just that.
Level of Care
: The Common Cleaner Wrasse is a high maintenance fish. Requires a large system with lots of larger fish.
Behavior
: The Common Cleaner Wrasse may act peacefully toward other fish. However it will not school with its own species, will fight among each other until one eventually is left alone in the tank.
Water Conditions
: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).
General Notes
: Labroides dimidiatus (Valenciennes 1839), the common or Blue Cleaner Wrasse. While the Common Cleaner Wrasse is generally available in small sizes this fish is not suitable for small tanks.
